As we gear up for the big reveal at the Eddie & Ozzie awards gala tonight, we wanted to reflect back on some of our proudest editorial moments. At IDG Communications, quality content fuels everything we do. With 50+ years of deep domain expertise, we understand the technology landscape like no one else and take pride in delivering actionable insights so tech buyers and sellers can be successful in their roles.
Don’t just take our word for it – the industry has spoken, and our long history of accolades and awards supports this notion. Let’s take a quick dive into our award-winning content helping tech pros stay ahead of the curve.
Predictive Insights & Expert Analysis
Readers trust IDG’s brands because our content is credible, trustworthy, and relevant in the market. We provide predictive insights and tap into industry experts to ensure they stay informed on the tech trends shaping business and society. For years, our writers have served as thought leaders on the most important tech topics.
In 2006, Computerworld’s ongoing coverage of the mid-term elections explored the security risks plaguing the U.S. voting system and accurately forecasted the problems ahead – many of which we’re still facing today with a presidential election looming in 2020. Just a few years later, CIO published a detailed expose on supply chain management during the product recall crisis, bringing clarity to an issue impacting organizations across all industries. Both stories were recognized by ASPBE, a true mark of excellence in B2B journalism.
Now as digital transformation takes the business world by storm, our editorial team is delivering crucial analysis for tech pros attempting to navigate the IT ecosystem – covering everything from machine learning to blockchain to cybersecurity & GDPR. No matter the technology in question, our brands have you covered.
IDG Legacy
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to be recognized by a variety of award programs and institutions for our work, and 2019 has been no different. In May, our B2B brands were recognized with 46 National & Regional AZBEE Awards, including CIO being named to the ‘Website of the Year – Top Ten List,’ the CIO Leadership Live series achieving gold status for ‘Best Social Media Campaign,’ and Mingis on Tech receiving national recognition for ‘Best Webcast Series.’
“For decades we have focused on the needs of enterprise tech professionals and answered them with insightful, solutions-oriented content,” remarked Eric Knorr, B2B Editor-in-Chief, IDG Communications, Inc. “The recognition is a true honor and testament to the outstanding efforts of our talented editorial teams. Our journalists are focused on crafting premium content, and it is exciting to see our commitment to quality being recognized by these prestigious awards.”
The recognition comes as nothing new for our storied brands. Since the turn of the century, we’ve earned over 400 awards for our work in journalism and design – including multiple awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASPBE), Software & Information Industry Association (SIAA) and Trade, Association and Business Publications International (TABPI).
Kickstarting this success back in 2000 was Network World winning the Computer Press Association award for Best Overall Trade Weekly or Tabloid. At the time, the CPA Awards were considered the “preeminent editorial awards of the computer and technology media,” and honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media.
“This was a huge vindication for Network World to win that award against broader, general purpose computer magazines,” commented John Gallant, Enterprise Consulting Director, IDG Communications, Inc. A decade later, Gallant would be inducted into min’s Editorial and Design Hall of Fame – a recognition which he attributed to “all the hard work and quality content and design produced by our editorial teams.”
Quality Matters
IDG’s commitment to quality translates to business value that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the industry. It is our quality content that has helped us form relationships with defined audience segments – and the 1st party relationships that we hold allow us to build the strongest bridges between buyers and sellers.
The content produced by our brands addresses the informational needs of the most important influencers in a market that is constantly evolving. Our readers know they are getting information that is factual, relevant and contextually aligned with how ITDMs make tech buying decisions and businesses position themselves for success. Our brands also provide a place for marketers to reach tech buyers in a brand safe environment.
2019 Eddie & Ozzie Awards
As we focus on closing out the year strong, we’re hoping to add a couple more accolades to cap off 2019. Earlier this fall, CIO, Computerworld, CSO, InfoWorld and Network World were nominated for a combination of 17 Eddie & Ozzie Awards for their in-depth coverage across the IT industry. Our editorial team joins a short list featuring the crème de la crème of content creators and designers, and we couldn’t be prouder to be associated with such an esteemed group.
Nominations span a variety of journalistic disciplines, from Web/Video Design to Social Media Presence to Online E-Zine content, all of which would not be possible without the high quality and diverse talent of our editorial team.
We look forward to the awards announcement this evening, and on behalf of the entire IDG editorial team, we sincerely thank our dedicated readership for their continued support.
