Foundry Celebrates Pride
LGBTQ+ Pride, observed by individuals, countries, and companies around the world, serves to promote validation, visibility, and equality of members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month often takes place in June to honor the Stonewall Riots in New York City in 1969, and to commemorate the first Pride parades held in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, and San Francisco in 1970.
In honor of Pride Month, Foundry will show support of the LGBTQ+ community all month long through a series of spotlights, speaker forums, and town halls—all designed to celebrate and empower the people that make up our community and the contributions they make when they bring their authentic selves to the table.
As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion and creating a safe space for our employees all year long, Foundry’s Diversity & Inclusion Council assembled resources for employees to further promote, support, and educate our community on the significance of LGBTQ+ Pride. Why the Spirit of Pride is Central to Foundry
Foundry’s mission of driving outcomes for marketers through the innovative use of data and technology would not be possible without people. As leaders in media & martech, we know that real people are what power everything from the solutions we engineer to the insights we capture. Our people are the heart of all we do.
We are honored to stand with, listen to, and celebrate the real people that make up our global community:
To me, Pride month is a time to appreciate the past and fight for the future. I have been able to live my life as an out gay man only thanks to all of the LGBTQ+ activists who fought, protested, and lived out loud before me.
At the present and looking to the future, it’s now important for those like me who have the privilege of living out, freely, to fight for those who can’t whether it be black trans women or gay people in countries where it is still illegal to even be gay. It’s a time for celebration, reflection, and an opportunity to uplift those most vulnerable in our community.
- –Nick Minieri, HR Specialist at Foundry
Even as diversity and inclusion efforts become more central tenants within company culture, we know that there is much work to still be done—in our martech space as much as in political and personal spaces—before the LGBTQ+ community and those of other marginalized groups receive the full levels of respect and equality that they deserve around the globe. And while we know that a rainbow logo offers little consolation against the very real dangers and injustices that members of the LGBTQ+ community face every day, we hope that our show of solidarity, this month, and throughout the years, helps move the needle forward towards a more safe, just, and vibrant world for all of us.
So, we celebrate Pride because we know firsthand that when companies create a space of inclusivity and acceptance, everyone wins. When we’re all given permission to bring our true selves to work, we connect better, we innovate better, and we flourish together. Because it’s the “real” in real people that drives everything we do.
From all of us at Foundry, happy Pride!
