We could all use a bit of cheer this holiday season and instead of watching another cheesy Hallmark movie, we made our own!
Whether you love them, hate them, or fall somewhere in between, there’s one thing that signals the start of the winter season: the inescapable stream of Hallmark style holiday movies.
This year, rather than sit through another sappy two hour special, we decided to create our own story with a twist.
So grab your hot cocoa, settle in by the fire, and enjoy our extra corny tale of sales, retargeting, and Christmas miracles.
❄️ Scene 1: The Struggling Startup
It’s a snowy December evening outside the offices of Jingle Technologies a small company that makes the finest bells in the world. Their bells ring with unmatched beauty… but unfortunately, sales are down, and time is running out to save Q4.
The marketing and sales teams are working overtime, but the phones are quiet and morale is low. With the holiday party coming up, they desperately want something to celebrate but for now, all they can hear is the sound of missed opportunity.
🎁 Scene 2: Holly’s Hunch
Enter Holly, a determined sales rep who refuses to give up. She’s staring out the window, watching snow fall on North 1st Street, wondering if anyone still cares about bells.
Just then: DING! A real-time website visitor alert pops up on her screen.
She rushes over. A visitor from North Pole Industries a perfect-fit company in toy manufacturing just spent time on the homepage, case studies, a product guide, and the pricing page… then left without converting.
🛠️ Scene 3: Tools in Action
Holly knows this is big.
With firmographic data and real-time visitor tracking, she now knows exactly who the company is, what pages they viewed, and what product they’re interested in. She tries calling the number provided. No answer.
But Holly isn’t giving up.
She adds North Pole Industries to a custom retargeting list, making sure that when someone from that company searches for “sleigh bells” again, her ads will be front and center.
She also sends a thoughtful follow-up email with helpful content and product info.
📉 Scene 4: The Dip
Four days go by. No response. Holly feels deflated. She bundles up and leaves the office early, walking through the snowy city to clear her head.
Just as she shuts down her computer, DING! Another alert. The same company is back.
One last try, she thinks.
She picks up the phone…
🎅 Scene 5: Christmas Comes Early
“Ho… Ho… Ho… Hello?”
“Yes, this is Holly from Jingle Technologies. I noticed you”
“Well hello there!” says the voice. “I’ve been seeing your bells everywhere! Turns out, some naughty reindeer chewed through ours and I need a last-minute miracle to save Christmas.”
Holly’s eyes light up.
They talk. They laugh. They negotiate.
Not only does North Pole Industries place a rush order to replace the chewed-up sleigh bells, but they also want to build a brand-new delivery vehicle and need Jingle’s finest products.
It’s the biggest deal in company history.
🎉 Scene 6: The Party (and the Lesson)
The holiday party is in full swing. Holly’s dancing to Jingle Bell Rock with a mug of cider in hand, her whole team cheering her on.
Out of the corner of her eye, she sees it.
DING.
Another lead.
🎯 Moral of the Story
Cheesy as it may be, this story highlights a powerful truth:
If you don’t know who’s visiting your website, you could be missing out on the biggest opportunities of the year.
With the right tools, intent signals, and a bit of persistence you can turn invisible website traffic into pipeline gold.
